understanding Awnings Basics
There are 3 main types of awning structured designs
Open Awnings, Semi Cassette, Full Cassette below we go through a introductory explanation and the releated models and a size guide

MiniMax
The expression MiniMax represents a weinor innovation. A clever arrangement of the arms means it is now possible to make awnings whose projection or depth is greater than the awning's width. To achieve this the folding arms have to cross partially when opening and retracting. This is particularly useful for deep and narrow patios/balconies. Normally they are required to be about ½ meter wider than their maximum projection
Open Awnings (with the option of adding a profile / a protective top shelf)
Open awnings are constructed in a way as a entry level product, they do not have a protective case covering the fabric or mechanics. They are suitable for locations under overhanging roofs or balcony ceilings which protect the retracted awning from the elements.
These are the original designed awnings, and newer model have been super seeded in styling, so to make these awings more accessiable they have introduced an option of a profile / shelf which will increase the awning life. This is a made to match cover which sits behind or over the top and side of the awning to reduce the harsh weather, garden dirt and dust, our friendly birds, the fabrics in dirt and dust.
topas
Our compact entry model with balanced looks and a very good price-performance ratio is called the Topas. This model has attractive details such as the gutter incorporated into the front rail or the fabric fixing to provide optimum fabric tension. The Topas is available with or without an aluminium protective canopy for wall, ceiling or rafter mounting, and, as a coupled unit, it can be up to 12 m wide.
It scores high marks for its high quality at a very good price. Be it an inexpensive patio awning or the Topas MiniMax for narrow but deep balconies, the Topas is always a good choice.

Semi Cassetted
The retracted front rail and the awning top enclose/envelop the fabric and mechanism of semi-cassette awnings. This means that the awning is better protected than an open one. The curved design brings the latest in style and look in an unobtrusive way.
Semina
When the awning is retracted, the front rail and the awning top blend in together harmoniously, but there is still an open gap at the bottom. Overall they provide a good level of protection from the elements alongside good-looking compact aesthetics.
An alternative to the semina is the simple and elegant Cap, this awning tends to be selective if a manual alternative is required and the cap has the additional function with the drop-down / extendable valance.
Cap
Trend setters like the weinor semi-cassette Cap awnings are among the first to recognise shifts in fashion and produce new shapes and functions. Its unmistakeable design and modern technology make the Cap the right awning for people who also want to stay one step ahead with their fashion statement.
The selection of uni- or multi-coloured caps and the valance make it stand out from the crowd. The Cap MiniMax is designed for patios which are longer than they are wide – the intelligent layout of the folding arms makes this possible!
These are great entry level products where the more of the aspirational and designer awnings may be not in alignment with your budget.

Cassetted
Cassette awnings are the ideal solution – when retracted they provide all-round protection for the awning fabric and the mechanism. The awning is ideally protected, ensuring a long service life – like in a safe.
Cassita
Size doesn't always matter. This is also true of our compact cassette awning Cassita for small and medium-sized patios. The clever two-point suspension adds to the Cassita's dainty appearance. The fabric and frame are well protected from wind and rain in the 12 cm flat oval cassette. You also benefit from a particularly good price / performance ratio.
I2000 / K2000
The simplicity of this awning with a simple constructed box design is one of the original Weinor core products, used because of its strength and a large single unit awning.
When such contrasting things as technology and aesthetics work well together, we talk of inner harmony. Not many products harmonise as impressively as the classically elegant cassette awnings I 2000 and K 2000. Both can be combined and extended as required and are available in widths of up to 6.5 m (or coupled units up to 12 m) and with up to 4 m projection.
Opal 2001 / Opal 2001 Lux
Based on its bigger brother the I2000 / K2000 this awning was to bring a dominantly commercial awning the domestic market.
Opal 2001 / 2001 Lux awnings which, when open, are astoundingly beautiful and, when closed, are inconspicuous and unobtrusive are called the Opal 2001 and Opal Lux. Both have a front rail with enforced closure so that the fabric rolls up perfectly and is safe and secure in the cassette, even in strong winds. Since it is impossible for the fabric to rub against the awning arms, there is no unnecessary chafing.
The addition of the Lux model is the inclusion of a integrated dimmable lighting system built in to the awning to add soft but bright light for your outdoors pleasure The latest addition to the awing is the clever use of Valance Plus a motorised drop valance which provides privacy and shelter from inclined sunlight and curious onlookers
Opal design / Opal design Lux
The cassette awnings whose design and technology can hardly be improved on are called the Opal Design and Opal Design Lux. Based on the Opal 2001 model a new sleeker and curved look has been achieved which is highly fashionable and appeasing to the eyes. When you look at these cassette awnings, you see immediately that the shape and colours in front of you are part of something special. The very flat cassette, which is only 16 cm high, protects the entire awning mechanism and the fabric.
The addition of the Lux model is the inclusion of a integrated dimmable lighting system built in to the awning to add soft but bright light for your outdoors pleasure
Automation and Electronic Control
Controlling your awning can be childs play via a press of a button, a remote control, to allow you open and close your awning and fine adjust how far the awning opens, to dim the lights, reduce the heat emitted helps to save energy and give you the ultimate control.
The optional extras like integrated lighting and heating system, to allow staying out in the evening a more enjoyable occasion and allowing you to use your awning throughout the year, not just when the sun shines.

Fabrics
Most of Weinor moments fabrics are produced from an Italian manufacturer covering just under 300 plain and patterned designs, has been tested by the technical department of the University of Milan. Each fabric was exposed to carefully controlled quantity of light energy at various frequencies and measurements were taken showing how much energy passed through the fabric, how much was absorbed and how much reflected. The frequencies of light varied from UVC, UVB, UVA, visible and infrared. This spectrum was used to represent natural sunlight in overall composition and strength. An enormous amount of data was collected over several months and tabulated. The results show many characteristics for each cloth.
This research is claimed to be the most intensive research ever carried out in this sector, and will be a cornerstone for future ranges as they are produced. The results show absorption and transmittance of UVA, UVB and UVC in order to offer a customer the choice of fabric depending on their requirement to block the harmful rays of the sun. In the visible part of the spectrum, the results show which fabrics and colours create varying degrees of shading; and the infrared results show the heat reduction characteristics of each fabric.

Conservatory awnings
Conservatories are the first choice of expanded our living areas, but with out shading products they do become a contentious hotspot of a heat trap, making them less enjoyable and some times wandering what liveable appeal they have.
Normal roof and slide blinds are an option but can be costly where Weinor have produce a external conservatory roof awnings system which sit on the top of your existing awning, and allows simple motorised control of the standard awnings fabrics which are design to reflect the UV and excessive heat, controlling the coolness whilst not necessarily cutting out the light
They are made for larger conservatories and patio covers (up to about 90 sq. m.) and combine quality, comfort and aesthetics. The factory fitted motor opens and retracts the fabric, which is under just the right amount of tension, almost silently over its light-running rollers. The WGM 2030 Design is a flat unit with straight side channels to provide the conservatory with shade from above. On the other hand the WGM 2020 Design is a curved unit with curved side channels, providing shade from above and the side at the same time.
Vertitex
To compliment conservatory roof awnings or even those hard to reach windows Vertiex is the outside vertical roller blinds system, designed to with stand the harsh weather and wind it simply sits around your conservatory or window and give motorised control, turning Turn your patio into your own very private area. The weinor VertiTex vertical shade enables you to create an undisturbed atmosphere on your patio. Peering looks are banished to the outside, whilst the translucent, air-permeable fabric helps you enjoy nature and the garden.![]()
