Bradrail vertical blind system is based on a very heavy duty headrail of thick extruded aluminum that has been powdered coated inside and out. This reduces the "trucks" inside the headrail from dragging and being noisy and allows ease and effortless operation whilst preventing the headrail distorting and twisting. Setting the rigorous standard allows us to produce larger width blinds (just under 5 meters) which have longer and bigger drops of the heaviest blind fabrics.

With our vertical blind system, you can buy a blind from ourselves and expect it to have a minimum life span of 5 years and from the reports of the customers still going strong after 15+ years.

Domestic or Commercial Vertical Blinds

Domestic and commercial customers will get the same headrail system showing the durability and long-life of the product, but don't worry about it going out of fashion we can provide you with a brand new set of slats at a small price compared to a complete new blind.

Vertical Blind Lourve slats

Louvre widths are 89mm ( 3.1/2" ) & 127mm ( 5" ) the 89mm louvre width is now more the popular size, (the size tend to reflects the depth of your window recess) and has the larger choice of fabrics, Bradrail still carries and manufactures 127mm size slats and headrail, giving you the customer the widest possible choice.

At Bradrail we prefer to stitch bond our fabric louvres rather than glue or heat bond them. This is important when fitted in widows that receive constant direct sunlight due to the glue peeling and the hems falling apart.

With any PVC or fibreglass fabrics, we will heat weld these as the are able to create a very strong bond and these non porous louvres look far neater than the finish than the stitch holes, if you are unsure about this please ask as we happy to send you a sample to show you the difference

The headrail is the core of your vertical blind and why specify a thicker profile. These lighter weight headrails can quickly become noisy & stiff in use due to dirt & dust collecting inside.

Pelmet Headrail - Vertical Blind

Based on the standard headrail but with a lip top and bottom on one side of the fascia, allowing a piece of fabric to be slided in between to assist creating the effect of continuous headrai from multple sections as the fabric provide a seamless flow as it joins the headrail together.

Vertical Blind Construction

A vertical blind truck is the device which is travels inside the headrail, and provides the hook for where a slat will be attached and allows the movement when opening the blind and also twist / turning (up to 180 degrees) the position of the slats. Self aligning trucks keep even spacing of each of the slats also can be reset just by opening and closing the blind to its full extents.

Slat options

Bradrail still offers 2 sizes of louvre slats 89mm (3 1/2") and 127mm (5 1/2") with 89mm now being the standard size the larger slats are where there is a deeper window recess. A choice of 200+ fabrics in various colours and solar properties including semi transparent, dim out, blackout, easiwipe and fire retardant. Bradrail is sure that it can offer an appropriate fabric for most enviroments.

Vertical Blind Controls

When opening and closing the blind you may have the requirements to open / stack the slats in a particular way, this may because the need to open of a window on one side and moving the slats to the right to stop them flapping around from the breeze or you may have restricted access to the blind on a particular side. Bradrail will manufacture the blind to the best option for you.

Traditional chains and cord system

Cord and chain is the traditional operation controls, we use a metal chain for truck control and a cord for opening and closing the blinds, providing the We can addition have child safety devices to these which will disconnect the cords and chain if excess strain is applied to them from possible accidental entanglement.

Wand Systems

A wand system or mono control is a single wand connected to a truck inside the headrail which provides a single point of control to open and close the slats and by twisting / rotating the wand it will change the tilt angle of the slats. This system is widely used as a safety option where children may have access to the blinds as avoid the use of chains and cords, or people with disabilities due to the easy of use.

Weights and stablising chains are two of the components at the bottom of each slat on a vertical blind. Bradrail now uses one of the heaviest weights we have found due to the range of new fabrics and especially woven slats that the slats can have a tendency to not sit correctly and distort giving a displeasing look. These weight are either slide in a stiched pocket at the end of each slat, or if a pvc fabric they will be heat welded, never glued due to they are never neat and overtime the glue will come undone

The stablishing chain assists the slats to keep an equal spacing and to stop them flapping around. The chain is linked and will attach the weights mentioned above.

Bradrail also carries stocks of these so if a customer has damaged, lost them they can be purchased and replaced by the customer.
